I have been employed in the Marine Industry over the past 30 years. I was part of Fox Chapel from the very beginning and witness the many changes over the years. Our marina is the nicest and best equipped facility around. I feel I have acquired a vast comprehension of the Marine Industry over the years and hope this will help me better serve our customers' needs. I attend a variety of industry meetings throughout the year looking for new ways to help improve our boaters overall experience. Because I love what I do and where I work, my personal life is based around boating as well. My son, Joey, grew up with boating being a big part of his childhood and even though his life is taking him in different directions he still tries to fit in as much boating as possible.
I became a part of the Fox Chapel Marine team in December of 2016. This is a brand new adventure for me and I look forward to learning and experiencing everything I can about the boating industry. All of our customers are kind and captivating individuals. I'm thrilled to be here and get to know them! I grew up with a big family and all kinds of animals. I frequently visit some of my family that live in Nova Scotia. When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going to Penguin's games and going to concerts and the movies.
I have always been drawn to the water, whether living near the ocean in Florida or boating on the Allegheny or just enjoying the pool. So when the opportunity came for the accounts receivable position I was excited to work at this beautiful marine facility. In the short amount of time that I have been here, the people I’ve met and work with are very nice, friendly and influential.
When I’m not at the marina, I truly enjoy spending time with family and friends. My husband, Marty, and I had owned a boat for years and would take our three daughters and our grandchildren out on it during the weekends. Our golden retriever puppy Remi takes up most of our spare time now. I still find the time for bike riding & walking some of the trails in and around the Pittsburgh area. But the ultimate enjoyment is being with my grandchildren, attending their sports games, concerts, or just hanging out at the pool.
I am looking forward to getting to know and working with everyone in this boating community.
I have been working at Fox Chapel Marine since 2012. During this time I have learned a lot about the boating industry especially regarding boat service. I enjoy meeting new boaters as well as seeing our regulars. The professional yet comfortable setting here makes it a great place to work.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my children Abigail and David. We love to go camping, fishing, and swimming as much as we can. I was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania and can't imagine a better place to live, work and raise a family!
I grew up and spent most of my life in Vero Beach, Florida where boating was a central focus of life and became one of my biggest passions--from fishing, wakeboarding, spending weekends on the water with friends and even driving my boat to school. My family also owned Island Hopper Boats where I worked on the assembly floor, learning how to manufacture and produce high quality boats from start to finish. I graduated from Auburn University, majored in Aquaculture and Fisheries Science, and started my career in the irrigation and construction industries. I moved to Pittsburgh in 2014 and am excited to be working at Fox Chapel Marine. I love helping customers find the perfect boat to fit all their needs on the water and sharing my experience with both new and veteran boaters. In my spare time, I enjoy being active outdoors, golfing, camping, biking, snowboarding and following Pittsburgh sports--Steelers, Penguins, Pirates and Auburn football.
Being on the water has always been one of the my life’s biggest passions. Growing up as a child, I fell in love with boating when my family would spend summer days at Moraine State Park renting speed boats. In college I was a Division I rower and A-10 gold medalist at Duquesne University, where I spent every morning on the Allegheny River watching the sunrise! After graduation, my first “adult purchase” was a pontoon boat and I have been boating ever since. Over my career, I have been in a variety of sales/marketing positions from owning my own company to corporate sales. I am also a newly enrolled student and fitness instructor at Penn State University’s New Kensington campus where I will be earning an additional degree in IT and Cyber-security. In my spare time when I’m not on the river, you can find me in the gym pursuing my second love of bodybuilding and fitness, or traveling to new exciting places in pursuit of the perfect pictures with my trusty camera!
The first time I was on a boat, I was one month old. Ever since, I have been on and around boats nearly every day in the summer right here on the Allegheny River. Between fishing, skiing, wakeboarding, and knee boarding I have owned two boats and have done maintenance on many more. When I graduated high school, I moved to Fort Lauderdale Florida to work on yachts. My first full time position was a deckhand on a 112ft San Lorenzo, and ended as a first mate on a 150ft Northern Marine. I am a certified engineer, licensed first mate, and a 200 ton master captain. I love working with new boaters because it makes me take a step back and think about the basics again. In my spare time, I am usually fishing in the summer or watching hockey in the winter.
Boating has been an important part of my life since 1962 when my Dad started his marina along the Allegheny River. Growing up in a marina has given me a lifelong appreciation of the pleasures and enjoyment boating brings to those who live and love the boating life. Fishing, pleasure boating, waterskiing, tubing, camping, boat racing and spending every possible minute on the river has been some of the greatest times of my life.
Over the years, I've done almost every job there is in a marina from swinging docks and pumping gas to washing boat bottoms and managing a service department.
I joined Fox Chapel in 2006 as the Parts Manager and I've enjoyed the opportunity to spend every day working with people who love boating. I love my work because it's true; boaters are some the best people in the world!
